FNB became the financial partner of the Springboks in 2017, and launched its new Springboks campaign, themed ‘words change the game’ – calling on all South Africans to rally behind and support the Springboks by sharing their words of encouragement in spirit of the 2019 Rugby World Cup in Japan.
I had the honour of working with some legendary Springboks, including Francois Pienaar, John Smit, Akona Ndungane and the late Chester Williams.
My main objective was to shoot images alongside the film crew that would be used for advertising and marketing purposes.
This campaign was shot on location at the Newlands Rugby Stadium in Cape Town.
Grid, knowing the power of a beautifully told story, and its ability to convey deep meaning emotively, leveraged this to create a campaign for FNB and the Springboks that would not only demonstrate FNB’s purpose of enabling and empowering help, but also the unifying strength of rugby.
